Don't forget (or go read the announcement from AntonyF if you don't know yet) that TrekBBS is going down tomorrow for the migration to XenForo and the migration will likely take all day.

    Be careful out there :)

Is there going to be a new address for the site, or is the address staying the same? I don't want to get lost.

Pretty certain it's staying the same, since Antony hasn't said otherwise.

I'm sure I'll find the differences eventually. ;)

I like. It sure loads faster, and that had really been getting annoying the last few months.

I'm sure glad the site is back up running again. I'm curious is there a place to post spoilers when discussing the new books yet?

I'm still getting the hang of the new format. I'm wondering if there's a way to mark a thread or forum as read. (And I wish the gray theme were a bit less monochrome.)

If you're referring to spoiler tags, they're found under the plus sign in the editor menu. (Sorry, I answered this in the Ascendance thread too, because I saw that one first.)

The button to mark a forum as read is up at the top of the page, underneath the Home / Forum / Members line, when you have the Forum tab selected. Not sure about marking a single thread as read, though.

This is pretty much how I felt when I saw the BBS was down this morning.

although it says "Mark Forums Read" - if you're inside a forum, it'll ask you whether you want to mark all the forums read or just the one you're in.

Thanks for the information Arvo arrow and Trampled Damage for answering my question. It's going to take awhile getting used to the features on this new Trek bbs website.:bolian:

By the way, why do some of the threads I've posted in have my avatar alongside them in the list, but others I've posted in do not?

Because you have posted in those with your avatar after the move. Apparently participation in threads before the move doesn't trigger that feature.

And I was finally getting used to the previous change to the forum when it last migrated ...

Joking aside I hope all goes well from a technical point of view and won't take long for us to get used to it. Suppose it is a case of diving in and trying things out.

So far on my iPad the site has crashed about 10 times over the past hour, and it is still extremely slow.

You should report this in the QSF sub-forum for XenForo issues. AntonyF is going to want to know about it so he can try to figure out what's causing it.
