Well there's all my enthusiasm gone for Life on Mars.

Same here. I didn't think it would be something that appeals to me, but I was at least going to check it out. Now I know not to bother.

The video gives the impression it's a comedy...? :wtf:

Eleventh Hour looks horrible. Pretentious and boring. Fetus, schemtus.

OTOH, Harper's Island looks like crazy fun, assuming they do the casting reasonably well and it's not all a bunch of pretty, vacuous twentysomethings. And how can they extend the premise past one season? Maybe they'll have one good season and then spiral into increasing silliness a la Prison Break.

I know, it put me in mind of those "wacky buddy comedy" trailers.
While the original has funny moments, it's not at all a comedy.

I agree, and didn't even watch the British version past an episode or 2.

WTF is going on with this quote, I keep correcting it, and it keeps splitting it up

I agree, it looks like it should be fun. I'll definitely tune in.

Why is that? Seems pretty interesting to me. I am in process of acquiring both the British series. Called up a friend in England and he said he'll send me. :)

I love our version of the show, and I hoped the American version would be similar in tone, but that trailer makes it look like a goofy comedy, which it's not at all.

I would have been interested in a sci-fi show but that just looks too much like a cop show. The mystery of whether he's in a coma isn't enough to keep me interested for an entire season (if they even plan to reveal it at the end of the first season.) I'm really not interested in all these cop shows with a little sci-fi window dressing they keep throwing at us. The Mentalist and Eleventh Hour are also in that category.

Even the legit sci fi shows (Fringe, Dollhouse) usually have cop-show elements. I'm glad to see lots of sci fi on the menu, but I wish the frakkin' networks would offer a little more diversity. The only nothing-to-do-with-cops sci fi shows on the horizon are Revolution, Caprica (maybe) and Boldly Going Nowhere (if that really does appear at midseason) and those first two are on Skiffy anyway.

Well to be honest, the interest in Life on Mars lies mostly with the characters, the mystery was never really a mystery, it was used to add potential to some of the situations. but it was mostly an excuse to do old fashioned police stories the writers liked as kids.
But as I said, the main thing is the characters.

Ok.. a few obersvations..

Life On Mars. This will appeal far more to late 30's and older people like myself who can actually remember the 70's cop shows.

The Eleventh Hour - trailer doesn't inspire confidence but I'll check it out.

Harper's Island - if they can keep the creep fctor going for 20+ episodes I'll be impresed. Hoping they can.

Talekd about Dollhouse and Fringe in their own threads.

I loved Life on Mars here in the UK, and I'm only mid-20s, but the look of the trailer here puts me off.

Apparently, Jeffery Bell, one of the writers on Angel (amongst others), has signed on to be showrunner on Harper's Island, which has increased my interest in it.

Life On Mars - :wtf: horrible trailer
Project Gary - unfunny
Harper's Island - will watch pilot
Worst Week - might be funny
The Mentalist - will check out
The 11th Hour -ok? :wtf:
The Cleveland Show - might be pretty good
Fringe - will check out

That trailer was horrible and AMERICA please stop ruining our shows, for god sake at least use the proper Life on Mars song since thats the shows name. Also J.D has a beard for Scrubs
