Section 31: The books vs. STID

One thing that I prefer about the 31 in Roddenberry's universe over the Abrams universe comes from the last episode with Sloan when Bashir and O'Brien are in his mind. Sloan says that there is no such "office" as what Bashir & O'Brien are "seeing" outside of his mind. Makes the universe a little more creepy.
Haven't we seen L'Haan and her 31 agents operating out of some kind of headquarters in their novelverse appearances? I swear I remember reading her giving orders from an office somewhere while she was keeping track of whatever they were up to at the time.

That sounds familiar. I think you are refering to the scenes in the secret bunker below the Klingon High Council chamber from Mack's two books for the "A Time To.." series. I think L'Haan was in those..

I know that we saw the DTI's office in "Forgotten History", but I don't ever recall S31 having an office.

The bunker was Zeitsev's (temporary) base of operations. But yeah...L'Haan did seem to have a base of her own.

I'd wager each of the divisions have a "base" of their own--but often (such as when they're undercover) of the sort so that they could move easily. Thus, while "Section 31 has no headquarters", there are locations where the agents could assemble and pool resources.

The scenes between Zeitsev and L'Haan took place at "An Undisclosed Location."

The base Worf infiltrated was located beneath the sub-basement level of Federation Embassy Qo'noS, not beneath the Great Hall's High Council Chambers.

Right! Thanks Sci. Your impeccable memory has shown us the way once again! :)
