Secret Santa gone wrong!

Here's my fun Christmas story for the holiday.

For the last several years, my family has been doing Secret Santa every Christmas. You draw a name out of a hat, and that is the person you buy gifts for. Instead of buying stuff for everybody, you only buy for your person.

Well, this year, my sister was my Secret Santa, so she bought me stuff.

My dad, however, was slightly intoxicated at the time he pulled his name, and for some reason he also thought he was my Secret Santa. He also bought me stuff.

Meanwhile, my dad was actually my mom's Secret Santa, so when the presents we passed out this morning, I had twice as many as I should have, and my mom had nothing from her Secret Santa. :(

Luckily, my grandma never follows the rules, so she bought a bunch of stuff for everybody, so my mom had quite a few gifts from her, and for the most part we all thought it was hilarious (even my mom).

Well, I got no tree, and no presants, and today is my birthday, so...

But on the plus side, two family members say they are going to mail me something.

Hey, another Christmas baby. It's my birthday too. Happy Birthday. :)

Sorry to hear about the presents, but it's good that they're going to send you some gifts.

We did a game with exchanging the Secret Santa gifts where we all picked a gift from the pile, stood in a circle, and then passed them to the left and right according to clues given in a funny little poem. It was fun, but I ended up getting a Swine Flu kit, which was... odd to say the least. Just by the nature of the gift I could tell immediately that it came from my aunt Doris. She means well but she's a little wacky.

However, I got another present for winning the Rummikub tournament. It was a Candies of the 60s pack from Hometown Favorites, which was pretty cool. I got the 50s one last year in the gift exchange, and that was popular with everyone at the party.

We had some snafus at my family's Christmas party too. We also do Secret Santa. One of my cousins is named for his father, so there was some confusion as to which person they were getting gifts for. Thankfully it all worked out in the end.

Our Secret Santa at work had a f*ck up, too. One of my colleagues had two lots of pressies and another had none. We know for a fact that the lady who had no pressies should have had something since she pulled her own name from the hat and put it back in so someone else could choose. Oh well, next time someone else can do the arranging.

I have always thought that having a bday on Christmas day kinda sucks..because you get either all Christmas presents or all bday presents! I was ALMOST a Christmas baby myself but was born three weeks prematurely and am sort of glad about it. If I had a bday on Christmas Day I probably would have only gotten maybe one or two gifts. But Happy belated Birthday to you nonetheless!

Thanks.

Mother would seperate the days so it wouldn't be unfair to my sister, the Hollywood model/actress. To me, that made no sense. They both know I'm still going to get twice as many presants eventually; it's just being prolonged by a few days.
