The Cybermen had only a few stories worth a shit in the years of the original series, and I've had no problem with their portrayal thus far (outside of the "DELETE" bullshit). Have faith. Good things may happen.

While I agree they only had a few good stories in the Classic Series (primarily The First and Second Doctor stories and Earthshock), I don't agree that their stories in the new series are any good. Maybe the costume design, the stompting, and "DELETE!" bullshit are too much for me to look past, but I've thought all three of their stories have been rubbish. Only "The Next Doctor" interests me, but that's only for the first half with the mystery of Jackson Lake.

Yep. I don't mind Earthshock - it's ok, but that old red-headed actress and the cyberman costumes put me off a bit. The best bit was Adric's death at the end. For me the last really good cyberman story we had was in 1968 (The Invasion). 42 years is a bit long to have to wait..

And I'm over this Cybus business. Let's have proper Mondasian Cybermen back please...


As for the Silurians/Sea Devils - I for one welcome our new reptilian overlords..

Ooh yes, that thing was fantastic. Looking it up, apparently Rustface once mentioned in DWM the idea of bringing it back. Part of me's glad he didn't because everything he touches turns to shit (I'm joking, slightly), but I'd love to see it come back. I also have an idea for a story to bring back the Kandyman (in a much more sinister way), but it seems like you have to be part of the mundane old boy's network of Doctor Who writers to have any chance of getting a script made. How else can we explain Chibfool still getting gigs on it and not Lawrence Miles? It's not what you know, it's who you've been writing tasteless innuendos with for years.

Sorry, I really got off track there. But yeah, cool robot. You've got to be pretty deadly to make a Cyberman vomit.

They actually seem to partially resemble the hybrids in The Scales of Injustice novel:

This thing? Almost too scary for TV. Until you remember that new Doctor Who has had people having their faces eaten off. Though going down that route, I wouldn't mind Cybermen like these.
