Not relevant.
It's a commonplace of life and, in fact most grown-up storytelling, that people almost never are together forever. Not to put too fine a point on it, but even life-long love affairs end with the passing of one partner.
So maybe Patel dies this week. But "oh, we know she's not around in ten years" is so without bearing on that outcome as to be trivial.
