Season 2 Plot Ideas!

PicardSpeedo

Commander
Red Shirt
With the announcement that STD has been picked up for another season, let's pitch some ideas for what we want to see our favorite crew get into in 2019! I'll get the topic train started:

"Thine Own Flesh"
Captain Lorca fails at negotiating his way out of a stand-off with 20 Klingon battlecruisers, and the spore drive is disabled, leaving no hope of escape. But when the Klingons board Discovery, they immediately stand down after finding Michael Burnham in hiding. It is later revealed that not only does Michael have Vulcan and Human lineage, she is also a direct descendant of Kahless the Unforgettable, and is considered the Klingon Kuvah'magh in exile. Is Michael the key to bringing peace between worlds?

"Caveat Emptor"
Cyrano Jones, played by Nathan Lane, makes a side-splittingly hilarious appearance on Discovery as he attempts to sell Captain Lorca useless trinkets. After Lorca throws him in the brig for being a nuisance, the Discovery is attacked by a mysterious alien race and held in some kind of energy field. It's revealed that Cyrano Jones is actually a notorious warlord in the rimward systems, and is responsible for the deaths of millions. Lorca develops a camaraderie with Cyrano, and he orders Michael Burnham to work with Cyrano to figure a way out of the situation. Michael must choose between mutiny and escape before time runs out.

"Perfection is the Child of Time"
During a battle with the Ferengi, Michael is thrown through a spatial rift and finds herself in her own childhood. Will she change her own timeline to become the person she has always aspired to be, and if so, at what cost to the future? Meanwhile, the B-plot involves Captain Lorca having to juggle losing the only competent officer on his crew to the spatial rift, and having to work with an elderly Doctor Soong to get her back.

I just work with what the writers give me!

So, it was supposed to be a dig at DSC or something?

Or is it "it's own thang?" I don't get it. I'm in the weeds here. I have several questions...

All 3 of these, at the least, sound like TNG revisited, so no.

LI reckon we're going to get a big name actress joining the show as the season-long villain. Like Julianna Margulies or Uma Thurman as the Leader of the Logic Extremists.

War with the Romulans, and a never before of Cheese Warp Drive that fails due to Saru's cheese addiction, leading him to eat important components.

Maybe he can explode after eating too much cheese and get replaced by an Andorian female. With large antennas of course.

How about this.. Discovery is sent off on a five year mission of deep space exploration and ends up discovering new worlds and civilizations!

I know this is a radical idea, but what do you guys think?

I expect to see more DS9 setting, the only way Discovery they could have a TNG setting is if they need more member worlds to join the federation to help with the war.
