I'm terrible with episode names so I can't vote but it's.
The Balance of Terror one. Completely upended my usual anti callback/nostalgia stance. The way they went all the way down to the eyes with detail was amazing.

A Quality of Mercy

The child sacrifice planet was great . Nice to see someone throw their prime directive at Starfleet and also Starfleets "colonial savior" complex.

Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach

Lastly the Event Horizon/Alien homage because Star Trek rarely does horror but when it does (Empok Nor) it's great.

All Those Who Wander
:)

I’m going to rewatch the series so I will revisit this thread in about 2 weeks. Prior to that though, and going on some blurry memory:

Quality of Mercy
Memento Mori
Children of the Comet

Spock Amok, The Serene Squall and All Those Who Wonder.

It's really tough to pick. Am I the only one who really likes The Serene Squall? I thought Jesse James Keitel was excellent.

I thought the A story for Serene Squall was excellent. Chapel kicking butt on Enterprise. Angel was well played. Her insights into manipulating Spock via Sybok were well played. The Spock/Chapel/T'Pring solution & it's aftermath was well done.

The B plot with the pirate/mutiny thing was waaaay too campy/unserious for me. Pike never acted they were in any actual danger.

I went Momento Mori, Lift Us Up, and Strange New Worlds. But easily could have gone Spock Amock, Ghosts of Ilyria, or the finale.

The Comet episode and All Those Who Wander were also good despite an glitch here or there (on shot hits the other ship in Comet, & they don't notice/care about Spock?). As was Squall's A story. The Fairy Tale onexwas weird at first but after the ending tied it together nicely.

A really well done season. I think SNW1, PIC3, & LD2 are amongst the best Trek seasons ever. Disco1, Pic1, PRO1, and the rest of LD were darn good too. I loved the first half of Disco2 and liked S4 a lot.

4 years of Disco, 3 of Picard, 3 of LD, 1 of SNW, & 1 PRO + 2 years of Short Trek. That is 12 seasons + 2 series of Short Treks.

The only real wobbles for me were the 2nd half of Disco2, Disco3, and Pic2. 9.5 out of 12 is a pretty good batting average. And I gotta say, I enjoyed large chunks of Disco3 & Pic2 as well.

Other than the finale I have rewatched the season and I still stand by these three choices. If I were to make a change, I would maybe swap out Memento Mori for The Elysian Kingdom, but that's mainly because the end of TEK was done really really well.

I think Momento Mori is the Balance of Terror episode. Not Quality of Mercy.
Quality of Mercy is the Balance of Terror Episode, and the last episode of the Season:

Memento Mori is Episode 4:

1. Strange new worlds, a very strong pilot episode, in fact its my favourite trek pilot.
2. Spock Amok - lighthearted fun that still respects the original and great new alien
3. The Elyasian kingdom - I like when the Trek characters play different characters, plus it gives M'Benga a leading role
All the other episodes I like as well

I'm too old to learn titles.

I like the one with the Gorn, the one with the monster maroons, and the one with the sexy pirate.

There were two episodes with the Gorn. The one with the ship to ship battles was Memento Mori and the one we see the actual Gorn aliens was All Those Who Wander.

1. Strange New Worlds
2. Memento Mori
3. The Serene Squall

Quality of Mercy might jump in here somewhere after a rewatch. Feels like one that would be better if you know where it's going from the start. Still wish they hadn't riffed on Balance of Terror so much with dialogue being taken word for word.
