I realize that the crew of "Discovery" will eventually use the uniforms of the TOS. Frankly, I think it's a pity. I prefer the "Discovery" uniforms a lot more. In fact, I'm not a fan of the old uniforms from the 1960s series.

The ST09/Into Darkness uniforms with a sewn on collar rather than it be a jersey over a black shirt, with the fabric of the Beyond uniforms would have been perfect.

It's always possible a new uniform will be introduced in a few years that no longer has the zipper and the asymmetrical collar. 2266 is still a long ways off.

I doubt it. In Discovery's version of Trek, the yellow/blue/red uniforms Pike's crew are wearing are the TOS uniforms, just like his Enterprise with it's swept-back nacelles is supposed to be the classic series version of the ship.

We don’t know that. Considering how often Starfleet changes their uniforms in some eras, they could change again by 2266

It would be incredibly stupid of them to retcon so much (up to and including the design of Trek's most iconic craft) but then end it wearing 1960's costumes.

Or perhaps I give too much credit.

I don't have a problem with the overall style of the uniforms, but why do they have to be skintight? Why can't they fit more like regular clothes?

Because the actors are in amazing shape? If I looked like Jason Isaacs I'd dress skintight, too.

But the body-hugging look has worked so well for Trek in the past, with the TMP jammies and the ever-popular TNG season 1 space unitards.

Hey, at least it's not just the women in catsuits.

Really liking those grey uniforms. Might have to use those for my fan fiction stories. Also liking the Vulcan instructor look.
