Season 1 stores that were TOS episodes rehashed.

I watched a few first season episodes a few nights ago. i didn't realise the episode called Justice where welsy was sentenced t odeath was a rehash of " Return of the Archons".
The episode ' The Last Outpost was a rework of " Arena"
Home Soil was a rework of Devil in the dark I did hear before.
Was Lonely Among us a variation of some portions of the original series episode that had Kang in it ?
and of all things " Q " has to be a member or cousin of Trelane's people.
Trelane's people and the race that abducted Charlie X had to be the same race. The earlier encounter with Humans is what made them want to deal with Captain Kirk which became the Squire of Gothos.

"The Last Outpost" actually owes a lot more to "Errand of Mercy" than "Arena." Exchange Klingons for Ferengi, and the Organians for the Tkon Guardian, and bingo!

It the model makes sense, as at the time the Ferengi were meant to be the next Klingons.

"Lonely Among Us" has a passing resemblance to "Journey to Babel" (both episodes involve two neat-looking races of alien ambassadors being a nuisance on the ship as a side issue), and its alien inhabitation shtick would be repeated on TNG more often than holodeck malfunctions, but it's not a rehash of "The Day of the Dove" by any means.

The general conceit of something unknown to be an intelligent lifeform killing people is something "Home Soil" and "The Devil in the Dark" have in common.

Theren are really no similarities at all with "Return of the Archons" and "Justice", except that orgies are implied to occur in both alien societies, and they have funny laws. The theme of the manipulative and problematic God creature is a recurrent one in TOS and early TNG, if you wish to characterise it as a rip-off, it's from a dozen episodes.

There are many obvious similarities between Q and Trelane, which makes fan connections popular. Q even quotes a line of Trelane's in "Tapestry". However, they also descend from the same archetype, they are both trickster gods.

You've missed the most blindingly obvious one... "The Naked Now". 100% rehashed.

"Where No One Has Gone Before" has elements of "Shore Leave".

"The Big Goodbye" has a bit of "A Piece of the Action".

"Datalore" uses the cliched evil twin premise previously done more interestingly in "The Enemy Within".

I'd say "The Arsenal of Freedom" had more of "Arena" than "The Last Outpost". They're all quite different, though.

^Yes, "Naked Now" was the worst offender in terms of being way too similar to the superior "The Naked Time." But "Home Soil" I think was the most laughable rehash, esp. having the creature refer to humanoids as "mostly bags of water." Yikes!

I think "Justice" is more similar to "The Apple," as they worship a machine-god of some kind, if memory serves.

First season TNG eps that are superior are the more original ones like "Heart of Glory," the first Worf-centered one.

This is ridiculous, IMHO. If we're going to be so incredibly vague than just about any TNG era episode could connect to TOS. For instance, Captain's Holiday --> Shore Leave, because both captain's end up on a holiday after being overworked and things turn out more serious than originally thought. The connections could go on forever!
