Script for Trek XI?

Well I got the opening scene for you.

Exterior: USS Kelvin flying by at warp.

Interior: Kelvin's bridge. Officers at their stations. Captain Robau in the command chair, in the middle of telling a story.

Robau: "...and I told the man painting the registry to the ship that I am the Badass Captain Robau, and if I want my ship to have a four digit registry, it shall. Now paint me a zero. And he did."
Engineer: "But why does the ship only have one nacelle?"
Robau: "The second nacelle would have been installed the following Tuesday. But I am the Badass Captain Robau, and if I want to fly a ship with only one nacelle, then I will. So I launched the ship on Thursday instead. Badass."

A new officer walks out of the turbolift and onto the bridge.

Robau: "Ah, our new XO. Commander...?"
Officer: "Kirk, sir. Commander George Kirk."

Tactical station beeps.

Robau: "Report."
Tactical officer: "Detecting something approaching us. I think it's a ship."
Robau: "You think? On screen."

Exterior shot. Space Octopus flies up behind Kelvin.

Interiror Kelvin bridge.
Captain Robau: "Holy shit!"

Interior Space Octopus bridge. Nero sits in his command throne, holding staff.
Nero: "Kill everything on that ship. Then set a course for Earth."

This thread reminds me of way back in 1990 when I found the script via Prodigy online during my first forays onto the web. It kinda ruined the actual film for me.

Curiosity got the best of me with Insurrection and Nemesis too - and both scripts were so disappointing that I just got depressed.

So, I'm glad this one is kept under tight wraps. The temptation to read it if it was available would be just too much. And I'd hate to ruin what sounds like a pretty nice Trek surprise! :bolian:

They've kept everything about this production very under wraps. With Nemesis, the screenplay was all over the web months before its release.

You know, that could have been what sunk the film at the box office. And the fact that it came out, competing against LOTR.

Excellence!

I tend to agree with you, I have absolutely no willpower when it comes to something like that, I'd download the thing and read it in an instant. Would it stop me from seeing the completed movie? Hell no, but I suppose I'll enjoy it a wee bit better not knowing everything going into it.

I wouldn't count on a script coming out. Abrams is very good at this secrecy thing, and I am pretty sure that if the script or movie was leaked early, Abrams would find and kill whoever done it.

I will sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boycott this movie if I can't download the shooting script and post my own commentary about it online and discuss how this movie will suck because I downloaded the script. Those stage directions and camera angles are totally NOT CANON!
:scream:

I want to read the script so that I can find something to complain about. So far I got nothin'. :p

Hmmm....

The bridge shots.

Spock.

I'm pretty sure his right sideburn is slightly different in shape than we've ever seen before.

This is heresy.

Sad. So very sad.

I am sure it didn't help.

Actually, I think the film's monumental suckage were what sunk the film.
