Scoggins As The Feisty Gilora

[Shada Dukal]

Few actors will be that enthusiastic when they realize that they are going to play an alien covered with prosthetics and no one will recognize them. She had fun while on the set and walking around and pulling pranks definitely gave her a bang. She interpreted her character quite well and portrayed a perky and self-assured scientist very convincingly. Her athletic figure also contributed to the presence and charm that her character displayed.

Cardassians are not wallflowers exactly and they can’t be played with a sense of modesty and self-depreciation. I really love her banter with the poor O’Brian who suddenly got his hands full. Gilora was not meant to be more than a one-time appearance but still fans remember her which attests what a good job the actress did.

She handled that role great and to hear she had fun off set in makeup is amazing, I would have loved to be able to have seen that.

I would have loved to see her return to trek, but I did also enjoy her in Babylon 5.

I loved Gilora Rejal, it's a shame she never appeared again, maybe even as a recurring character after the war started.
