Science fiction movies that did not do well but had really great soundtracks.

Just as the title says what movies do you know that never were box office hits or did financially well but yet had really good soundtracks?

One of my all time favourites Titan A.E. Movie bombed badly but had a killer soundtrack, nice orchestral pieces but lots of pop tunes and well known artists.

I just wish when they did the soundtrack CD they had included all the other music besides the pop songs

I love the soundtrack to the remake of The Time Machine (the one starring Guy Pearce). Music by Klaus Badelt.

It's such a trippy and yet fantastic short movie... I love it. I am glad they have never tried to remake it.

Black Hole soundtrack is great, grandiose sweeping tones
Apparently it's a minor miracle that the soundtrack to "The Black Hole" is even available. More info here: https://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4333.

The soundtrack to "Cloud Atlas" is, IMO, amazing. As is, the film itself, also obviously in my opinion. I feel as though it should have done better at the box office than it did. :|

In actual fact I love Cloud Atlas it's also weird and trippy, and the interconnected stories. It's great as well and

So far my list is neat Altered States which I have loved for years, Cloud Atlas the same and Jupiter Ascending. All really weird films but I like them. I do have issues with Jupiter with the story trying to do too much in such a short time. They could have set up her reveal and ended the film when she found out she's not actually born of entirely of Earth but a reincarnation of the people that own Earth who just happen to be long lived humans that planted their seed on our world. The battle and political stuff should have been saved for a second movie and then maybe her character could have been written a bit stronger and less wimpy. I mean what the hell does she do with her new title and such nothing, back to cleaning toilets.

THE SHADOW, by Jerry Goldsmith.
Thank you for bringing this one to my attention. Filmtracks.com (my go-to site for soundtrack reviews) seems to think quite highly of the two-CD Intrada release. Currently out of stock (though apparently not out of print), but maybe I'll apply myself to finding a copy.
