Sci-fi shows you recall

From days of long ago....from the uncharted reaches of space...there comes a legend...and a stolen intro for my thread idea..hahaha ok ok so here I was thinking about some wonderful sci-fi/fantasy shows from years past and was wondering which ones you may recall...two that spring to mind are

Superforce: Astronaut Zachary Stone (Ken Olandt) returns from his acclaimed deep-space mission to find that his brother, a police officer, has been murdered and the criminals responsible are still at large. Frustrated at the seeming lack of concern or progress by the police, Zach takes it upon himself to find the killer(s) and bring them to justice, joining the Metroplex Police Department as a detective

War Of the Worlds the series: In 1953, Earth experienced a War of the Worlds. Common bacteria stopped the aliens, but it didn't kill them. Instead, the aliens lapsed into a state of deep hibernation. Now the aliens have been resurrected, more terrifying than before. In 1953, the aliens started taking over the world; today, they're taking over our bodies!

I can't remember the name of the show...but it was in syndication in the early 90's...it was very robocop like...but the guy was just wearing a suit and road a motorcycle...he was a cop. I dunno. I enjoyed it for what it was.

I believe you are referring to Superforce which by todays standards is camp but back then it was pretty groundbreaking for a 30 minute series to have such a budget for f/x and who can forget the classic opening narration " in 2020 times are tough...but this man is tougher..."

If you liked that I think you might also enjoy a two season show from 1998 called " Nightman " and yqw, I actually was just given the Superforce series on dvd bootleg of course by a friend but have not yet watched it, I have really good memories of the show and don't want them ruined the way i ruined The greatest American hero, by re-watching it recently

I never saw Nightman but I do remember some stuff about it.

I remember really liking War of the Worlds as a kid, and finding it insanely creepy. I somewhat doubt that it would hold up to an adult rewatching, but one of these days I should try.

I believe he was the fighter of the Dayman, Champion of the Sun.

Season 1 of war of worlds does still hold up I watched it about 2 years ago...season 2...not so much...

as for Nightman...I think your idea would have worked much better than the series hahahah

The internet (and youtube in particular) have been useful in keeping some of these shows from total obscurity.

Until recently I thought I was the only one in existence who remembered this show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWEoHek8IM0. Wizards and Warriors on CBS! Though after seeing the clip maybe there's a reason why. It had Jeff Conway and "Stephanie" from Newhart in it.

I think my favorite 90's syndication guilty pleasure was Mortal Kombat Conquest. It was terrible but I enjoyed watching it for the silly fights and fantasy village chicks with heavy makeup and bottle blonde hair (who also showed up a lot in that Beastmaster show).

I remember this show had really fun guest casting: lots of b-stars and porn stars. :)

wow here is another one " Hard Time on Planet Earth " The main character was an alien Elite Military Officer (Kove) who served in a huge interplanetary war. After the war ended, he was prosecuted for rebellion against the planet's ruling Council; he was found guilty, but in recognition of his valuable services in the war, he was given the chance to reform by spending an undetermined amount of time in a vastly underpowered human form on planet Earth. Along with him was dispatched "Control" (voiced by Danny Mann), a small floating robot in the form of a mechanical eye with the mission of overseeing Jesse (the earthly name adopted by the alien warrior, from the name tag on the first Earth clothes he wore) to make sure Jesse kept his violent behavior in check. "Control" also provided comic relief to the series, usually by assessing the events with the catchphrase "Negative Outcome. Not Good." Each episode followed Jesse as he reluctantly helped different people in need. He derives much of his information from television shows, giving him a skewed sense of Earth culture. At first, Jesse only helped those in need to earn Control's approval in order to put an end to his exile, but he slowly became fond of the goodness he encountered from some of Earth's people.

Does anybody remember TekWar? It was good until Torri Higginison left. In other words, three episodes in.
