Will Smith is just producing this. I sincerely doubt the most bankable star in Hollywood would do television when he can do...whatever he wants on the big screen.

Very true. Unless, of course, he actually wanted to do a TV show again for a while - maybe as a new challenge or something. It's not like he's short on cash and needs to stay in Hollywood to get his bank balance up. Not saying that is the case, but it could happen.
