Scenes that scared the crap out of you as a kid.

Bits and pieces I caught of Jaws and some movie with piranhas scared the crap out of me when I was little. These gave me horrible fits when walking into my dark bedroom. With my heart slamming against my chest I would rush in and jump in bed as fast as humanly possible all while tucking up my legs so as not to dangle anything over the side for even a second.

Now of course, I have to laugh since not only was I on dry land, but smack in the Colorado mountains.

Pennywise the Clown in IT! scared the shit out of me when I was a child. Also the scene in Alien where Dallas is in the tunnels/Air ducts or whatever there called and he turns around and the Alien grabs him (the dam thing looks so human yet Alien its freaky).

^So...you should be more concerned about a Red Dawn scenario then, right? :)

Indeed. :)
I was a teenager in 1984, and it was well before the Wall came down, so the fears from watching that movie resulted in a whole different kind of scared.

"Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" when the kid fell into the chocolate river and got sucked up the pipe.

Hate that movie...

Ah yes. I wasn't too big a fan of the girl inflating (or however it worked) either. It's quite a nasty story, and I've no love for it.

I always hated the stupid hallucinogenic, chickens-decapitated tunnel. Scared the crap out of me as a kid, and as an adult, I just think it's plain stupid. Especially considering there was absolutely nothing of the sort in the book.

And also the Mork & Mindy 2-part episode "Mork In Wonderland" where he shrinks after taking some cold medicine. The part that freaked me good was at the end of part one, where he completely shrinks away and falls down some psychedelic vortex while frantically shouting for Mindy. I couldn't sleep that night. I swore off of Mork & Mindy episodes for quite a while after that scene.

That one didn't freak me out exactly, but ... the last I saw was him falling down that vortex and shouting for Mindy. I never saw part 2, and I never knew how he got out of it. What happened?

It's been a while since I saw the episode, but from what I recall he ends up in some backwards parallel world where humor isn't allowed, and he meets an alternate version of Mindy (called Mandy this time). They join the fight to restore humor to the world. At the end, the effects of the cold medicine wear off and Mork returns to his normal size, bursting through the kitchen table where he shrunk from sight. It was very Alice In Wonderland-like.

The world in question was ruled by Exidor's counterpart, and Mork was aided by lookalikes of famous comedians of the past. The grouchy neighbor's AU counterpart betrayed the crazy king and aided the rebels, but Mandy was killed by one of the last shells. In the epilogue, he painfully recounted her loss to Orson.
