saving games and backwards compatibility

It know it's impossible to save a Playstation 1 game on a Playstation 2 memory card. Is it possible to save a Playstation 1 or Playstation 2 game on a Playstation 3? What about saving Xbox games on an Xbox 360?

Yeah, on the PS3 you create virtual memory cards from your hard drive. On the 360 they just save games to the hard drive since original Xboxes had hard drives too.
