I am watching all of Voyager from beginning to end right now. The good thing is that I don't remember many of the episodes so it's sorta all new to me again.

I did, however, remember Sarah Silverman. I am pretty sure that Voyager was the first time I ever saw her in anything. I don't think I knew she was a comedienne.

The double episode itself, was not stellar, but I loved Sarah Silverman . . . . and still do :-)

Im practically in love with her. When I first saw it I didn't think anything of her, but later I fell in love with her comedy and then, /swoon.

I just got done watching Andy Dick on the show, and the Candyman guy. This show did great with other actors, almost like x-files. So many more other cool actors in than I remember, well Dick isn't cool but it was cool he was in it, I kinda hate that guy.

She did her VOY role a lot better than "playing the bigot" trope. Apart from Carroll O'Connor, not many have the ability to make it work convincingly.

I read somewhere there was talk of bring Silverman on as a regular. Still kinda wish they'd done that. Rain Robinson was a fun character . . . and had more chemistry with Paris than B'Elanna ever did.

Paris and Rain lacked the gravitas of Paris and Torres. And the latter relationship had as much chemistry, as far as I'm concerned.

I liked Sarah Silverman until I started watching her show on Comedy Central and found it really bad. It's amazing how low key she was in Voyager and I thought that was the way she always was.

Did you hear what he said to Jon Lovitz after Phil Hartman's death? "Dick" came up to Jon in public and said "I put the Phil Hartman hex on you. You're the next one to die." :wtf:

In the lap of squalor I assure you.
Comedians are not civilized people, who claim that they have thick skins, inviting "comedy" until it's too late, and something unforgivable is said.

This is not to put Rain down as a comeo but if someone hadn't shared that the actress has some kind of following I saw her as hardly remarkable in Future's End. Not bad but just somebody in the scenario. Starling was a better character.

Yeah I always remember wondering where the Paris/Torres relationship came from, it never seemed totally convincing to me--especially not long-term.

Rain would've been a great addition to the cast, get some great 20th century culture and references into the show that none of the others onboard would get :)

The first time I saw her was on "The Larry Sanders Show" as a staff writer. She's in a bunch of episodes-

Which predates her VOYAGER appearance by a number of years.

    Check it out!

So I guess Sarah Silverman is poised to take Kathy Griffin's spot on the D list? :techman:

Sarah Silverman was awesome guest starring on VOY but I'm glad that she went on to other things, rather than committing to the show and possibly having become typecast, because of it. She had so much going for her, when "Future's End" came out. Very talented. Very beautiful.

Futures End, while never be a top 10 episode for me, was still none the less a real fun 2-parter too watch and you could see the cast where having a ball filming it. It is also really rewatchable :)

Plus it did set up a few plot points for future episodes. Something rare on Voyager!

"lacked the gravitas"? Could you explain because, well, I has difficulty to find this "gravitas" in Paris/B'Elena's relationship (rather maturity - and God, they needed to grow up! - as well as individual as a couple) in the acceptance of what they really were and of what they were able to do but, maybe I'm wrong.

As for the chemistry, even if both ended to become the only stable romantic relationship of all ST series, I remain perplexed on this point - besides, I note that it took 4 seasons to see Tom/B'Elena together - (and the more advanced we were in the show, the more I thought this relationship was forced).

To return to Sarah Silverman, I liked a lot her scenes between her character, Rain Robinson, and Robert McNeil's Tom Paris. It would have been interesting to see their relationship evolving from a good camaderie to something more serious. The character had the qualities (she came from the past while Tom came from future, with all that this implies!) to become an interesting adding to the crew.

I love Ed Begley Jr., and it was fun watching him be such a great villain. :D

I like her, but after seeing "Crank Yankers" I now want to think that Rain Robinson found a way to crank call Voyager through time and never left them alone.

I don't know. I'll take "fun" over "gravitas" any day. :)
