Santa Claus meets the Borg

Jayson1

Fleet Admiral

Santa Claus woke with a splitting headache and memory fragments that come rushing towards him in a blur. There was a image of him in shuttlecraft being hit by a energy beam. Then a weird robot like person looking over him as he layed on some flat metal table and then finally a creepy voice or voices, he mentally corrected himself talking about asimilation or resitance or who knows what. It went by so fast and everything was so strange, unlike anything he had ever experienced before, it was hard to keep everything strait.

Now awake though, Santa began to compose himself better and started to observe his surroundings. First was the darkness of the room. It was almost pitch black with only some computer consoles lit the color of green providing any kind illumination for the room. He did notice other tables, much like he one the ones he had been lying on the room and even though it was hard to make out from the darkness he thought it might have seen spots of blood and other human or humanoid flesh on them. This chilled Santa to the bone. Not since the time he found the Grinch feasting on some of his elves had he ever been exposed to anything so negative or horrible. His wife and elf cabinet usually did a pretty good job of sheltering him from some of the horrible realities of human nature and life, which he felt was important in helping him maintain a Christmas spirit, year round allowing him to do his job.

Santa was now certain he wanted out of the room but almost the instance he had the thought, he heard the hissing sounds of doors opening and two cybog's walked in and they spoke "We are Borg, your biological and technological advances will be assimilated, Restiance is futile." Santa was scared. He had never seen anything like these people and he had seen a lot of unusual things since he expanded his business out int what the humans now called the Alpha Quadrant. Still he knew he was good at making friends and making people at feel at ease so he responded with "HO HO HO my children. If you take me to my shuttle I have plenty of candy canes mint frosting haspart to go around. Let's all celebrate the holiday together." The Borg showed no emotion though and responded back "HO HO HO is futile, candy canes and mint frosting is futile. Any more attempts of restiance is futile and all will be assimilated and be made one with the Borg.. You will be assimilated now!" One of the Borg's moved closer and Santa saw small tube like things come out of there hand and they pressed them on him and then it all changed.

Santa fell to the ground with intense pain! He felt his entire body shiver and his blood felt like hot lava running within him. He started to turn pail and then the pain started to fade and the voices, so many voices, started to overtake his mind. One voice though stood out even among the billions! It was the queen! She had a question. She asked, "What have you done to me?!" I feel different and I feel something I can't comprehend." Santa to his surprise noticed the other voices in his head also started asking those questions as well.

Santa stood up. The pain was gone and he noticed the two Borg who he had encountered looked perplexed at each other but also with a hint of a smile on their faces. Santa left the room into a hallway which was dark but not for long as lights, all across the ship started coming on. Santa moved through the ship, encountering Borg after Borg having similiar happy but confused expressions on their face and he did this until he reached the Queen's drone room.

He entered the drone room and the queen aproached him. "Why do I feel so good and why do I feel a urge to talk to my fellow drones and share their company, instead of controlling them?" Santa could only let out a big belly laugh and a "HO HO HO" The queen replied "I still don't get it?" Santa took her hand and walked her over to computer console and they both sat on it as if it was furniture. "What your feeling, along with the rest of your mates is the Christmas Spirit." "It is the feeling of wanting to be kind and caring to one another, and the feeling of wanting to be with family." he replied. The queen started to cry, "My family died years ago! We the Borg killed them. I have no family." Santa just continued to hold her hand and smiled. "My dear, you do have a family! The drones are your family. They have been for awhile and you all just never realized it because the way you communicated was not helpful in building any real bond amongst yourself. he replied and then said "I will stay with you for awhile and help you all adjust to these new feelings. Best way to do that is to have the very first Borg Christmas."

That was many years ago from today. Now days when people see a Borg cube or Borg Sphere they actually get excited for they now know that even though Santa died one year later after his Borg encounter from eating spoiled mint frosting haspart that his spirit continues to live on within the collective.

The End
