RIP. A great actor with a charismatic screen presence, from the Jurassic Park series to TV shows like Alcatraz.

the show about the infamous jail in san fran being a somewhat supernatural place where all the prisoners vanished in the 60s and then returned in the 2010s era and or who knows maybe even returned before the 2010s era
When I was at a family gathering yesterday I had a anecdote of a friend who had successful cancer treatment but it effected her heart and circulation system, she had an operation, caused more complications (then she died).
My mother in law had chemo last year. It's definitely had a knock on effect to her heart though.
I'd like to rewatch Event Horizon this week, but also Possession has been on my list for some time so might be a good time to take the plunge (have heard it isn't an easy watch)
Seen lots of people comment on The Dish, and also Letterboxd showed a video of Neill picking his four favourite films and one of them was one of his own, Sleeping Dogs from 1977, one of his first roles and New Zealand's first colour feature length 35mm film so I might search that out.
I've been meaning to rewatch Jurassic Park because it's been a very long time since I've seen it, and been a few years since I've seen In the Mouth of Madness. Also Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a joy so might schedule that in!
Given the amount of free time I have to watch films it may take me a few months to get through just these!

The knock on effect of treatment, especially in blood cancers, is a severe hit to the immune system.
While the treatments can put the patient in a position where they are symptom free and able to lead a full active life there is usually the risk of infection.
It appears this might be the case for Sam Neill as his ex partner has said he had been ill with Pneumonia and passed away in hospital.
Its often the case that its not the cancer itself that takes you, its an infection of sorts, like this.
Its very sad him having been well and optimistic about the future to this suddenly taking him.

It sounded like the poor lad may have had sepsis, etc, develop suddenly when resting and recovering at home (but he received successful experimental cancer treatment more effective than chemotherapy, so he indirectly help save people).
Very sad to see that he died. Jurassic Park was one of my childhood movies.
I'm going to say that the first of each series is good. The rest are pretty awful.
Now, the animated cartoon for Jurassic Park is really good too.
i think he was also in the apple tv show invasion but only in 1 episode back in season 1
Not sure I’ve ever seen as bizarre a “tribute” as the one “paid” by Alec Baldwin here.
