How did TPTB&B miss casting M(r)s. Jens as a SB?

I could've seen her playing one.

She's a perfect fit.

It'd gone well with her prior ST roles as the Prehistoric Humanoid on TNG & the Femme-Odo on DS9.

I couldn't agree more. As much as I loved Salome Jens as the female changeling, having her as a sphere builder would have been a little too over the top.

I had that same thought,
But I can see why some would think it would be a bit much.

Would having Salome Jens as the Sphere Builder not start Fan fic stories linking the ancient Humanoids to the Sphere builders like they've been connected to the Founders just becuase of the similarity of each of them?

I think casting Jens would have confirmed that the Xindi and the Sphere Builders were just a rip off of the Dominion to everybody. We all know they are though.

I always assumed a connection between the Founders and the Sphere-Builders. Their 'look' seemed to resemble the Founders too deliberately. Who knows what 29th Century Founders would be like or how many times they would have been foiled by the Federation by that time. Good fanfic opportunity here

I guess having her be a Sphere Builder would have been one show too many for her in androgynous-looking alien makeup in the TREK universe. First she's the holographic projection of humanoids' ancient forerunner in "The Chase(TNG)" then spends five seasons off-and-on/coming-and-going playing the Founder Leader on DS9. Another bald, fetus-looking alien of incredibly advanced evolution and power would have pushed it.
