"Sad? No"

Finishing the C.S. Lewis novel, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, I came upon (as I related in the "What are you reading" thread) this passage, which I am absolutely certain I later saw quoted (verbatim or very nearly so) in a Star Trek novel:

. . . Lucy could only say, "It would break your heart." "Why," said I, "was it so sad?" "Sad!! No," said Lucy

I am of course not accusing anybody of plagiarism; nobody would quote something that recognizable, from anything as famous as the Narnia canon (and no editor would let it through), without intending it to be recognized as a Narnia allusion.

I think the author gave Lucy's lines to Uhura. But I'm by no means certain of this.

Anybody remember what the Hell I'm talking about?

I've tried a couple of different searches in Google Books, but nothing comes up that looks anything similar.

Thanks to "Smiley" in the "What Are You Reading" thread, I have my answer. It is indeed Uhura, in The Wounded Sky.

. . . when Kirk and McCoy were discussing the odd experiences that the "vast majority" of the crew had, the first time K't'lk's inversion drive was activated.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader has
. . . Lucy could only say, "It would break your heart." "Why," said I, "was it so sad?" "Sad!! No," said Lucy
while TWS has
. . . a recorded voice spoke: Uhura's. "The whole thing," she said, her voice quiet and pensive, "would have broken your heart." "Why?" said Lia Burke's voice, equally quiet. "Was it so sad?" "Sad? No!" said Uhura--and the joy and longing in her voice were astonishing to hear.

It's almost verbatim, and DD even used the unusual device of two speakers alternating in the same paragraph, the same as Lewis. Clearly an open homage to Narnia, intended to be recognized (and indeed, it's hardly the only Narnian nod in the book).
