Ken Adams died. RIP

Nicholas Meyer

My dear friend, KEN ADAM, one of the greatest production designers in the history of movies, has died in London at the age of 94. His life was as big an adventure as anything he put on screen, and that's saying a lot. His output of startling, imaginative, not to say, thrilling designs, began with The Crimson Pirate (wherein all his future James Bond gadgets and gizmos could be glimpsed as 18th century prototypes!), included most of the James Bond movies, also Around The World in 80 Days (wherein he worked with the great William Cameron Menzies), Dr. Strangelove, Barry Lyndon (both for Kubrick), plus Sleuth, Addams Family Values, Pennies From Heaven and a raft of others, including The Seven-Per-Cent Solution, Company Business and The Deceivers, for me

Never realised Ken Adam as involved In POT. Shame it didn't happen would've looked amazing

Forget Trek, sad news for movie aficionados in general.

Especially Bond fans....

With those on his resume, a film that was never made is the last thing I'd associate him with.

Just to be persnickety, the film to-never-be wasn't Planet of the Titans for long. It was renamed Star Trek—The Motion Picture a few months after the Titan treatment was okayed.

Hell, his design contributions to Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove were accurate enough for him to be investigated by the CIA. That's the true testament to his talents.
