Rupert Murdoch plans end to free news, will this affect you?

What will you do when News websites begin to charge money?

  • I will gladly pay a fee to continue reading news from my favorite website.

  • I will instead use one of the many other free news websites on the internet.

  • It doesn't affect me because all of the websites planning to do this sucked anyway.

People still watch FOX?

Only those who want to laugh at idiots. Maybe 3% of their coverage is interesting,

Well at least you're smart enough to watch it.

but 97% of their news and commentary is knuckle-dragging at best. But I guess the people who feel that it is actually fair and balanced are like-minded.

Since when do minds have knuckles to drag? :shifty: Yeah okay. I know who NOT to listen to...

I see that idioms escape you.

The fact they think what they report is news is funny as hel! Comedy Central is more news than Fox.

How often do you watch FOX to make that informed opinion?

I wonder if he knows that ad revenue is normally the way people pay for most sites. Sure, there are all kinds of subscription sites but they typically have a smaller paying audience than news sites.

I guess we all know where everybody leans here!

I lean no way, I don't like bullshit news, all TV news is bullshit news and Fox News is the worst of the worst. I rather trust The Onion.

I try watching Fox News on the weekends and the fact they can't get any facts correct, and that the garbage they "report" on I can say it's trash TV.

Same could be said of NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, CNN HLN, and the like.;)

Since my internet news comes from CNN.com and BBC.co.uk, I'm not really worried. That is until Ted Turner goes Murdoch, or Murdoch just tries to take over the Beeb.

Oh Rupert, you couldn't pay me to go on any of your sites. I get all the humorous bits your "illustrious" "journalists" spew out from YouTube, The Daily Show, or Colbert.

I watched Fox quite a bit during the campaign, and it was hilarious. They had "news" like an in-depth report on how Obama's plane smelled worse than McCain's and an appearance by a folk band that sang a song called "Drill Here, Drill Now." No, I'm not kidding, or even exaggerating. It's like a Mad magazine parody.
