Running Time of Christmas Special

This has to be wrong, but my FIOS guide says that "The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe" running time is 2hrs 20minutes. Starts at 9pm and ends at 11:20 (and is then repeated).

Any info? This can't be true (too bad).

"The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe" runs from 9:00 PM to 10:20 PM, then a repeat of BBC America's "Best of the Christmas Specials," a documentary where fans talk about favorite moments from past Christmases, runs from from 10:20 to 11:20. At which point "The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe" does indeed start again.

I liked RTD fine, but I have to admit Moffat has become well adept that keeping to the time limits. I get the feeling we aren't likely to see any 75 minute episodes from the guy if he's only given 60 to play with.

And although this is old hat by now (thank God) it's still great to see BBC America showing it uncut based on that run time with commercials. Presumably Space in Canada will follow suit, too. I'll be curious to see if they'll still plop that "My name is Amy Pond" intro onto the special or if they're planning on making a new one.

Except for "The Eleventh Hour" (65 minutes), "The Pandorica Opens" (50), "The Big Bang" (55), "A Good Man Goes to War" (50), and "Let's Kill Hitler" (50), anyway. All of which he could, without a doubt, have cut down if circumstances had demanded it, just as Davies could have cut his (if I'm counting right) six episodes that overran. But it's a high-profile show on a network with a flexible schedule, so they didn't have to.

It also helps if the show in questions could be considered one of your channels flagship shows, such as is the case with DW and BBC One (for now at least, some of us remember how it was treated by the same channel at one point in time)
