Runaway - New Film From Horizon Creator

Hey all,

Many of you may know me from my work on Star Trek - Horizon, the Enterprise-era fan film that has garnered nearly 2 million views so far on YouTube. I wrote, directed, edited, scored, and was the cinematographer, main visual effects artist, and costume designer for the film. I'm getting back into original material and have launched a Kickstarter to create a sci-fi cyberpunk short film. I need your help to make it happen. Anything you can do, whether it's chipping in a couple bucks or just sharing the link, would be very helpful!

You can find Horizon here:

And the new Kickstarter campaign here:

[Crowdfunding link removed per TrekBBS Terms of Service.]

Synopsis:
Maria is an android on the run-- falsely accused of murdering her master. Pursued through the forest by ruthless bounty hunters, Maria struggles to reach the Free States and maybe discover her humanity along the way.

I will certainly donate and I like the concept for your film. However I don’t think posting your Kickstarter page here falls within the TrekBBS rules.

Thanks all for the responses, donations, and willingness to donate. I figured this would be a good place to post it since it is relevant to Horizon. And please do share the link as well! :)

I saw on your KS blurb that DVDs of your terrific ST: Horizon are perks for one level of donation to your new, and I will expect to find it also terrific, film. Is that because your new film is not ST IP or a ST fan film that squares doing that with the guideline thing about a fan production can't be distributed on a physical format?

I was wondering that as well.

Please do not solicit funds on TrekBBS (i.e., post crowdfunding links). Instead, buy an ad. Thanks.

Providing a DVD as a perk for a donation is effectively selling the DVD. So if he's offering Horizon disks as a reward, he's selling a Star Trek, which is illegal.

I'd think that including it as a bonus to another reward; i.e. "donate $10 and get a coffee mug, plus bonus Horizons DVD" etc would be slightly better.

That's a difference that makes no dfference.

When Jimm Johnson sent the Making of DVDs out for "The Savage Empire" to supporters he often included a copy of the episode as a bonus, but it was not advertised as a perk thus was an ACTUAL bonus "thank you". No one sent money in to get the episode. He understood the line of demarkation there.
