You can imagine the Pickin' & Grinnin' parties Roy and Buck are hosting up in Heaven right now...

He was pretty good on the fiddle, banjo and mandolin, too! Roy Clark was a natural showman and a great musician, I saw him 8 or 9 years ago and very glad I did.

I am am not normally a fan of cornball, faux-down home humor, but as a kid I watched Hee Haw with my family every Sunday for many years and Roy Clark was always enjoyable and seemed to be genuine, no matter how bad the jokes.

To my surprise, just in the preview frame above I can name Archie Campbell, Junior Samples, Gailard Sartain and Marianne Gordon. How things get into your mind as a kid!

Just for fun, here's a few Roy Clark pics:

This is the virtual "Roy Clark" which welcomes visitors to the cultural exhibits at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City. The video screen activates by motion sensor.

In 1985 my grandparents visited the Music Valley Wax Museum in Nashville. Here's the Roy Clark wax figure that was on display then.

Here he's playing "Rocky Top" on five different instruments on the Muppet Show. More on that here.

And the thing is - at all times - he seemed to be "having fun" everywhere he went!
