Romulan Reactors

According to Rick Sternbach's files on th AQS reactor, the reason the Scimitar was so damn powerful was that it had 3x AQS reactors on board that were armored.

That explains ALOT about how it had so much "Power" to use along with having Cloak + Shields + Weapons/Mobility at the same time.

When you design a vessel to have that much available "Power", of course it's going to be a "BEASTLY" vessel.

Makes you think about the future of StarShip design and having multiple large reactors to feed a ridiculous amount of Power to the rest of your ships systems.

Or maybe "Hybridizing" on multiple different Reactor Types simultaneously to not have one weakness in all using the same type of Reactors

Dedicated reactors for specific sets of ship's functions, then. One for the cloak alone?

It's definitely not been a part of Lower Decks and they are the most faithful to the previous lore.

Yeah I'd love to see that in Lower Decks. We do see a D'Deridex engineering in "Timescape" and it is a bit more modest than the illustrations.

Gonna' necro-post here. I have no shame.....
I've always liked the idea that the romulan plasma weapon from TOS:Balance Of Terror was a quantum singularity application. That's what hit and drove deep into asteroid bases so destructively, not just some plasma fluff ball. The QS provided something to warp space around for the weapon to have FTL capability, and the QS consuming the plasma set the range limit. The weapons application may have actually preceded use of quantum singularities to generate power, just like the Manhattan Project wasn't about reactors. I'd like to think that romulans are more inclined to weaponizing things than humans are, but we do set the bar pretty low in that respect.
