Roger Corman has passed away

The thing I learned from Roger Corman was that not all movies had to be high-concept or visually earth-shaking. Some movies could be purely escapist, gleefully melodramatic, or even outright silly, and still be fun. His movies may have been low-budget and often made at a rapid-pace, but I suspect Corman will still be remembered decades from now,

I own the Roger Corman collection of Forbidden World/Galaxy Of Terror/Humanoids From The Deep/StarCrash on blu-ray, plus of course Battle Beyond The Stars. I've seen so many others, mostly in Cinemax in the early 80's.

So many great, cheesy movies.

R.I.P.

The only one of his movies that I've seen is Battle Beyond The Stars, which I'm pretty sure I enjoyed.
I think the fact even as cheap and cheesy as his movies tended to be he was still well respected says a lot about how good he was at what he did.
RIP

He produced an unreleased Fantastic Four movie apparently.

I'm glad it eventually surfaced on YouTube, for a while there it looked like we would never get to see it.

He owned the naming rights for “The Fast and The Furious” because he made a film of that name. It’s why there is no “The Fast and The Furious 2”.

Even though some of them Roger Corman flicks are far out there and wacky, at least they're not totally sleazy like the Troma flicks. My personal favorite Roger Corman movies are these whether he was director or producer

the early 1990s Fantastic Four movie
the original Little Shop of Horrors movie
Piranha
Space Raiders
Munchies
Carnosaur
Humanoids from the Deep
