Did anyone see this movie? It was my first Guy Ritchie film, and I loved it. Entertaining, well-shot (NNGH CINEMATOGRAPHY EYE CANDYYY), good cast!

i have yet to see it, but with most of Guy Ritchie movies, this looks more of the same...with the exception of Swept Away of course...

So are the rest of his movies this well-done? He managed a large cast (at least 15!) and didn't let the plot suffer.

    Did I mention the cinematography.

I saw this the weekend before last and really enjoyed it. It didn't show all the violence; it let you imagine how horrible it was. You got a real sense of who all the people were right away.

I love the robbery scene at the beginning. Very funny!

And the music was fantastic. It really brought you into the story.

^^^ Agreed. Fast, violent, and (some) dumb fun.

I swear, is there ANY kind of role that Tom Wilkinson can't play? That man is just amazing.

^ No kidding. I didn't recognize him right off, and then I heard his voice. He was REALLY good as the evil mobster.

And, to be honest, just watching Gerard Butler is worth the price of admission. :techman:

He is really easy to work with and be good. He has been acting for so long that he quickly gets into a role. An anecdote I heard was that he doesn't even look at his lines until the day of filming. Which is in complete contrast to Daniel-Day Lewis who spends up to 6 months preparing for a role.

I'm kind of worried about it being more of the same from Ritchie, but, on the other hand, it has a great cast (as is usual for him). After seeing him on three seasons of the Wire, I'll be happy to watch Idris Elba in ANYTHING.

I didn't know Elba was in this movie. Now I really do have to see it.
