Robert Holdstock Dead

Australis

Writer - Australis
Admiral
Haven't seen it mentioned, so from the latest Ansible:
Robert Holdstock (1948-2009), UK author of many notable sf, fantasy and horror novels, died on 29 November, having been in intensive care since collapsing on the 18th with what proved to be a serious E. coli infection. He was only 61.
I've been meaning to read Mythago Wood series. And he only released the latest in the series back in July.

A great loss.

Mythago Wood and Lavondyss were both really remarkable examples of just how good and deep fantasy can be. I should read some more of his stuff.

I read his Night Hunter series in the '80s, published as by Robert Faulcon; they were entertaining horror/mystery novels, but lightweight compared to Mythago Wood. Still, it shows his versatility.

Just remembered I read Where Time Winds Blow years ago, when it first came out, enjoyed it.
