I am trying to design a RPG campaign set just before and after BoT, and am trying to rationalize both UFP and Rom actions around that time.
I have recently re watched BoT and so pretty thoroughly grasp the points of that episode. I am quite happy that I have enough ideas for the pre-BoT activities. StarFleet are none the wiser, but the Roms are preparing for the field test of the new technologies. Maybe there were a few cloaked raids (or at least scouting missions) before the big test?
And maybe those raids were why the Enterprise was assigned the RNZ patrol in the first place?
But, afterwards, I am a little shaky. As I recall, the Deadly Years just uses the Roms as a dramatic enemy to heighten the tension, and no more. But, obviously, the Enterprise Incident had far more detail, but I don't have a copy of that, am so am a little unsure what clues are there.
All thoughts (and evidence if any) are welcome, to help me build up a picture as to how the two sides worked between BoT and EI.
