Less than two months shy of its 150th birthday, Denver's Rocky Mountain News published its last edition today.
The publisher, Scripps Howard, had been searching for a buyer for months. When none was found, the decision was made to hang it up.

I grew up in Denver and had a Rocky Mountain News paper route. From 1980 until my dad died in 2001 someone in our family (mostly dad) delivered the Rocky Mountain News.
The Rocky was also home to one of the best sports cartoonists, Drew Litton. Here's his final cartoon.
