RIP Ron Palillo, Horschack on Welcome Back Kotter

Just saw that on the news. How sad. 
Aw, man.
Oh, hell. That's the second Sweathog we've lost this year, after Robert Hegyes died in January. And Horshack was always my favorite.

I loved the Horshack laugh; that was classic.

I loved Welcome Back, Kotter back in the day and Horshack was my favorite character. Those were good times.

My computer is my primary source of news, entertainment, and information. Suffered a major computer melt-down a little over a week ago, and wasn't able to log on until last night, and Ron's death was the first piece of news I received when I finally logged on. What a bummer.
Ron wasn't just a celebrity to me. He was a Facebook friend (one of my first) and we had several common friends in real life as well. (Primarily NY stage actors). When I logged on to Facebook today for the first time in over a week, practically my whole wall was full of stories about his passing. It was a nasty and totally unexpected surprise.
I'm glad that the article in the OP mentioned his artwork. Most people didn't know about that, but he really was a talented illustrator, and was a master with technical pens and art markers. That, more than anything, was one of the reasons I first sought him out on Facebook.
He was a good guy, and will be missed.
