RIP Peter Postlethwaite

Ahhhh, dammit! Good actor, a damn shame.

I remember the illustrated Discworld book, 'Where's My Cow?', and the artist had used Postlethwaite as the template for Vimes. He'd have been good, too. :(

Just read about this. So sad. I loved him in everything I saw him in - seeing his name in the credits meant I knew at least one part of a movie would be good.

Just saw this. Very sad to hear it, always gave a great performance. Rest in Peace :(

A fine actor. I'll miss the opportunity to see new work from him. Loved him in "Brassed Off," "In the Name of the Father," and especially in (one of my all time faves) "The Usual Suspects."

I think he's been in nearly every film ever made!!!

Too bad and from cancer too.

RIP, Pete.
The world of acting has lost a great one.

Oddly enough, I got my dad Inception and The Town for Christmas, and we've been watching them the last few days; he has small parts in both. His role in Inception is pretty minimal, but his cameo in The Town is excellent.

RIP.

Yeah, we watched Inception for the first time last night.

Such a shame. Can't remember him ever being anything less than solid in any of his performances. He seemed to elevate any film in which he appeared.

I've seen him in a lot of movies as well. Just saw him over the weekend in The Last of the Mohicans, and he was also good in The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

RIP, sir. :(

Aw, damn. Great actor. You could always count on him to give a memorable performance.

RIP, Mr. Postlethwaite.

He was also a bright spot in the film Dragonheart. Sure, not a great film, and his part as a poet was silly, but he played it just the way it was meant to be played. It's harder to do a comic role like that. It was even funnier when they realize that he's the best archer of the army

Sorry to hear it. He was such a great actor, never gave a bad performance. I thought he looked a little frail in The Town but he was never exactly bulky, so I didn't think too much of it. I had no idea he'd been ill for some time and was shocked to hear of his passing. RIP.

RIP. One of the most underappreciated actors I can think of. Like others have said, he was always solid in any role. I'm surprised he was so young - I thought he was at least in his 70s.
