RIP: Patrick McGoohan

I loved him in The Prisoner and in Ice Station Zebra. He'll be missed.

RIP Mr. McGoohan. :(

RIP, Patrick McGoohan! A terrific actor. I enjoyed his performances in The Prisoner and Danger Man. Also, loved his turn as the villainous, steely King Edward Longshanks in Braveheart and as Roger Deverau in Silver Streak. -- RR

Another one-of-a-kind actor is lost to us. :(

Not only was he brilliant as Number Six, but I will also personally remember his turns as the antagonist on Columbo. He had such great chemistry with Peter Falk.

RIP, Mr McGoohan. :(

am a huge fan of the prisoner and he will be missed. It was such a unique program, that even today is rarely seen. It dared to be abstract and feature a hero who loses most of his hard fought battles.

Unfortunately, I was picturing him laying on his deathbed and hearing "FRRREEEEEEEEEE-DOOOOOOOMMMMM".

The good thing about being involved in a geeky sci-fi classic is you'll live forever with the fans and never be completely forgotten.

I was sad to hear of the AMC series, but this is seriously sad news.

And whatever happened to Chris Nolan's theatrical version, being written by the 12 MONKEYS screenwriters? That was supposed to be his next film after TDK, but I haven't heard anything in over a year now. I'd really hate it if this AMC travesty somehow upset Nolan's PRISONER applecart, especially if he was going to use his regulars like Bale in the film. That'd make up for Bale or Owen not getting to do James Bond properly in my mind, if somebody did THE PRISONER justice (assuming it is even possible.)

Very sad news I am gutted.
I watch The Prisoner quite often it is one of those shows I can just sit down and relax and enjoy. I am not sure the remake will live up to the origonal, how could it.
You know there are very few actors left from the series and now we lose the man who made it all happen.
I will certaily take a look at the script refered to above any chance of a link?
Another thing I love about the series is the stock music they used which was taken from Warner's vast archive well worth getting on CD or download.
Oh, if you are in London check out his house at 1 Buckingham place which is just aroun the corner from New Scotland Yard
Be seeing you in heaven....
