RIP Johnny Otis

Although this was announced a few days ago, it didn't get a lot of coverage until people started mentioning it in connection with the passing of Etta James - 1950s RnB legend Johnny Otis (of Willie and the Hand Jive fame) passed away on the 17th at the rip old age of 90:

Ironically the article points out that he was responsible for discovering Little Richard and ... Etta James.

Apparently Otis was active until only a few years ago, too, still hosting a radio show.
