Irvin Kershner, director of Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Robocop 2, Never Say Never Again, and many others, has passed away at age 87. A great and vibrant talent. RIP.

And I wouldn't have been a dick, if you hadn't started your thread some 27 hours after the SF/F thread, and phrased your post as if none of us had heard the news since it was first reported. Next time you decide to report day-old news as if it was breaking, it might be worth your thirty seconds to run a brief search.
