Gregory McDonald, most famous for his series of 'Fletch' mystery novels has passed away, he was 71. RIP Mr. McDonald, I was a big fan.
PULASKI, Tenn. - Gregory Mcdonald, whose bestselling "Fletch" mystery books also were made into four feature films, has died, according to his manager. He was 71.
Mcdonald had been diagnosed with cancer and died Sunday at his cattle farm in Pulaski, near Nashville, David List, his manager, said yesterday.
Mcdonald twice won the Edgar Allan Poe Award by the Mystery Writers of America and published 26 books, including "Flynn," "Running Scared," and "The Brave." The latter two were made into films. His fourth film was "Fletch Lives." He also was with the Boston Globe for seven years, as a writer, critic, editor, columnist and editorial board member.
