Veteran U.S film producer Gary Kurtz, producer of movies including Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back and America Graffiti, has died in London aged 78.
Kurtz passed away yesterday, Sunday September 23, after a year-long battle with cancer.

Always a level-headed man.

One of the true reasons SW was the breakout phenomenon it was. SW as a franchise has never been the same since he parted ways with Lucas.

He's probably a major reason the original trilogy was so widely popular, an amazing producer who worked perfectly with Lucas.

He also produced one of my other all time favorite movies, The Dark Crystal. His death is a big loss for the industry.
