His grieving wife Vashti revealed the star's final words as he tried to comfort Jesse, six, and Indigo, four, on the last day of his life.

Vashti said he had told the children: 'I am going to go to sleep now as my body won't work any more. I am like a butterfly with broken wings.
'I will always be with you and will always be watching over you. I love you.'

I read that this morning. So heartbreaking. I can't imagine having to explain to my daughter that I was about to die.

Deadline.com reports that Andy Whitfield had a camera crew following him to document his battle with cancer. The producers of the documentary have but the project on kickstarter.com because they need money to finish the documentary.
