Anyone else a big fan of Rihanna?
I started taking notice when she released Umbrella. That album and beyond was a good turn for her career.
Top fav songs:
1. What Now - I yell it.
2. Wild Thoughts - I love the Santana sample.
3. California King - I'm a sicker for a great ballad.
4. U Da One - it's just fun
5. SWM - so amazin'

And you know what's in my bottom 5?
Sledgehammer - ironic I know, yeah I really do think.
It was by Sia for Sia, had truly nothing to do with Trek.

It kills me she not releasing new music. I know there's covid but other artists are killin' it despite the pandemic [see Doja Cat for example living her best life right now], so I guess I guess I guess it's all good.
She's makin bank with the side hustle. And bully for her.
It's just been a long road getting from Anti to now.

I thought it was some of the campiest Bruckheimer knockoffs ever to make it to the screen. I'll watch when I stumble across it.

I can’t say that I’m a “big” fan, but just in the last few months I started listening to some of her songs on Spotify and have yet to hear one I don’t like. My daughter responded to this with a sarcastic, “welcome to 2015, Dad.

I remember Umbrella. I thought it was a cleverly written pop song, but pretty lightweight. That kinda put me off her for a while, although I really liked her duet with Ne-yo.

The only songs I can think of right now that have caught my ear, besides Hate That I Love You, is PS, I ‘m Still Not Over You. She might be one of the only current pop star who does moot shun long song titles, which I like.

Her taking along time with her album is a very American thing. It only increases the the level of excitement when it finally drops.

Somebody ought to cast her as a Romulan. Preferably in a script that Diane Duane has something to do with.

Other than that, I don't take much notice of her. She doesn't seem to be active in so much as a single musical genre that's of interest to me.
