Rewatched Survivor Season 1 and some things didn't make sense

How did Rudy (cranky and not that strong or contributing), Gervase (lazy), Greg (crazy) and Sean (dumb) last so long? Especially with Rudy and Sean it felt like they had immunity for being audience-popular/memorable, also that they had voted off B.B. too soon and couldn't lose Rudy.

Also with Rudy, when competitors hated Rich and wanted to vote him off but he got immunity, why didn't they then together vote for Rudy instead?

Why did Sue get so mad at, feel so betrayed by Kelly? Was Kelly telling the truth or lying that her distancing from the alliance was agreed upon by the alliance?

Why were Kelly, Colleen and also eventually Sean not more unpopular for acting so self-righteously moralistic against alliances? Why wasn't Kelly considered hypocritical for using it and then acting so self-righteously tormented about it? Also Sean actually on-air admitted that his alphabet strategy disfavored Pagong but most people seem to overlook that.

My memory's not that great from the first season, but I can answer some of those. Rudy lasted a long time because of his alliance with Rich. Gervase and Greg by process of elimination, BB was cantankerous, Ramona wasn't giving her all, and Joel only got voted out instead because of that 'Dumber than cows' joke. Sean lasted a long time *because* he was dumb. He came up with that 'Alphabet strategy' as a way to let Rich's alliance know he'd only be voting for Pagong members.

Sue got mad because she felt personally close to Kelly, then Kelly cast the tiebreaking vote to kick her out of the game.

You have to remember, this was the first season. Most of the players in the game thought everyone was just going to vote off who they thought 'Deserved' it. So when it got to 9, 8, 7 half the players were still in denial what was going on.

I don't remember which episode Rich won that immunity, but I seem to recall Kelly wanting to flip but not being comfortable without Sean, and Sean was being dumb alphabet guy.
