Hi there This is my first post here but I'm a bit of an old hat at building 3D stuff. I used to mod for bridge commander years ago and decided to upgrade one an old design now that I'm getting into 3D printing. Some of you may recognise it. Any feedback is welcome. Thanks Queball
Fixed that for you! I'm not sure, but I think you added the wrong links from postimages.org. I exchanged your links for the direct image URLs of each respective rendering. Hope it's now visible for everyone. As for the design itself, I really like it! Kinda reminds me of Voyager's Delta Flyer a bit, with a hint of the hero ship's aft section in there, too.
Thanks Michael, was having a right stress as I couldn't edit my post! It's a popular mod I made for ST:BC that was designed by MayehmUK, the USS Courageous. It got ported to Legacy/Armada etc.. I used to specialise in low poly optimised stuff, but now printing demands much higher detailing as printing couldn't give a monkey's about smoothing groups. This was the original mod:
It’s sleek. Looks kinda Romulan to my eye. Is this the Federation’s turn after the Romulans [allegedly] stole Federation tech to build the TOS Bird of Prey?
Hey, long time no speak my friend! Good to see someone else still doing the rounds. Your designs/drawings are still amazing mate
I believe MayemUK who drew the original design, based it on the B5 Whitestar but I agree it does have a strong Romulan characteristic about it. The redesign I'll be doing here will hopefully give it a much stronger fed appearance, possibly doing away with the roll bar.
Basic shape for the nacelles added and a few other refinements. Lots of mesh errors but these will be picked up at the end with manual optimisation.
I agree, it seems to serve no logical purpose. I'll still build a version with it for nostalgia's sake so I can have a model of it on my desk
Some more details added and some refinements. Have added the pulse phasers to a more inboard position than the original.
