Reviews-What will be the headlines??

"I HAVEN'T SEEN IT BUT IT SUCKED!!"- MattJC

And underneath there would be no review, that would be the review, just the headline.

"As if the Star Wars Prequels weren't bad enough."

"Kirk back from the dead in D.O.A. rehash."

"Not so boldly going where we have all already gone before."

So, get out your crystal balls.

Hey, hey, that's my own business not yours.

Ahem, anyways.

"Get Circle Kirked"
"Guaranteed to Wash the Bad Taste of Crystal Skull Out Of Your Mouth"
"Greatest Movie Of The Year - ACME Sombrero Company"
"JJ Abrams outdoes himself again. In a related story, JJ Abrams travels through time to kill himself in a fit of jealousy"
"President Jorack McRack reccomends any genetically engineered Demopublican view this movie"

"Dr. Spock returns to the Star Track Enterprise!"
"Dewey Wins!"

Well, I don't see this film getting anywhere near the same amount of press as Batman. In fact, 'headlines' might be kind of a stretch...because at the end of the day, this movie will be only one of the many action offerings of next summer.

I mean, it's certainly on the radar around here...but most people don't even know that there is going to be a new Star Trek movie yet....or if they do, they will say something like "Yeah...I think I heard that there might be a new one"...and that's all the info they have.

Maybe there will be more hype in the spring - I certainly hope so. But frankly, I'm having trouble visualizing anything like "headlines" about a Star Trek movie.

Reviews, yes...but 'headlines'? I don't know.....

Back in 1989, some small town movie critic called Batman "The movie of the decade!" That was on all of the ads for this movie in the Chicago papers. So, get out your crystal balls. What do you think the critics' quotes will be in the print ads for STXI?

"A thrill ride from beginning to end!"
"Boldly go...again!"
"Trekkies, rejoice!"
"Set a course for the Oscars, Mr. Sulu. Warp speed!"
"A zany, kookie, wacky, laugh-a-thon, 10!!"

You're taking this way too literally. This was meant to be fun. Re-read my original post above. I didn't suggest frontpage newspaper headlines for this movie. I asked, "What do you think the critics' quotes will be in the print ads for STXI?" Even NEM had at least one one-line review attached to its ad that recommended the film.

Also, like you, I'm hoping for quite a bit of hype for this film and I don't think we will be disappointed in the least. The idea that Paramount moved it to a different date to take advantage of the summer spike in attendance is a great indicator to me.
