No names, please."STAR TREK IS GOOD--TREKKIES ARE PEEVED"
So, get out your crystal balls.
"Dr. Spock returns to the Star Track Enterprise!"
Back in 1989, some small town movie critic called Batman "The movie of the decade!" That was on all of the ads for this movie in the Chicago papers. So, get out your crystal balls. What do you think the critics' quotes will be in the print ads for STXI?
"A thrill ride from beginning to end!"
"Boldly go...again!"
"Trekkies, rejoice!"
"Set a course for the Oscars, Mr. Sulu. Warp speed!"
"A zany, kookie, wacky, laugh-a-thon, 10!!"
Well, I don't see this film getting anywhere near the same amount of press as Batman. In fact, 'headlines' might be kind of a stretch...because at the end of the day, this movie will be only one of the many action offerings of next summer.
I mean, it's certainly on the radar around here...but most people don't even know that there is going to be a new Star Trek movie yet....or if they do, they will say something like "Yeah...I think I heard that there might be a new one"...and that's all the info they have.
Maybe there will be more hype in the spring - I certainly hope so. But frankly, I'm having trouble visualizing anything like "headlines" about a Star Trek movie.
Reviews, yes...but 'headlines'? I don't know.....
