Requesting Uniform Info

I'm doing a painting showing a part of Starfleet Headquarters featuring various people stationed there, working on shuttlecraft and other small ships. I'm looking for details on uniforms between 2360 and 2370.

Links to HIGH REZ images would be appreciated, as would direct emails, but I'll also need to know which uniforms are worn by which duty classification: 'machanics', supervisor-types, shuttle crew, etc. Remember, this is a planet situation, not shipboard.

Thanx, in advance,
Andrew-

Trekcore has a very nice gallery of screencaps from the DS9 episode "Homefront", which primarily takes place on Earth in 2372. The people there mostly wear the same style of uniform from TNG's season 3 onward.

...As for something in the exact 2360-2370 time bracket, we have several slightly different combinations available.

"Conspiracy", in 2364, reuses the ST4:TVH matte painting, but we can probably ignore the 2280s-style uniforms briefly glimpsed on the personnel there. Inside ST HQ, we witness people in the S1 TNG style of uniform and in the jumpsuit-like flag uniform, there being no interesting extras or background folks we could spy on.

Other Earth episodes from the era do not show SF HQ, nor do they feature people other than flag officers, line officers and cadets; there are no special uniforms shown. However, it could be a good idea to use whatever is worn on the Enterprise as the yardstick of what is worn on Earth's top facilities and centers of power, since we've never seen a major discrepancy there...

While not quite the type of resource you ask for, Spike's page has accurate and faithful renditions of the uniforms of the era, even though some color combinations are speculative but not marked as such. The wraparound mustard jumpsuit from the 2351-2365 section looks like something you could use, for one.

However, most of the uniform variants in the 2366-2372 section would also probably be in existence in your time brackets, even when some are only first glimpsed on screen in the 2370s when we meet the Voyager crew.

Personally, I would love to see you look through the 2366-72 section very carefully, identify all the variants there - and then invent your own counterparts for the first half of the 2360s! Surely that period, too, must have had Class B uniforms, "field fatigues", "pregnancy uniforms" and other such variants, even when those were not part of the garderobe on the visible parts of the Flagship of the Federation.

Also venturing into personal preferences, I would suggest using the Class B uniforms (as seen on Deep Space Nine and Voyager) as a somewhat standard work uniform for shuttle mechanics and the like, except in the greasiest of circumstances. After all, Miles O'Brien did his daily, sometimes gritty work in such a uniform. As for the "field fatigues" with bluish hues and chest stripes, they have always been associated with ground combat people, so might best be applied on a platoon of Starfleet Marines running past in a training formation. ;)

Although this is tagged as Vulcan Operations, I think it's a 10-Forward, or lounge uniform.

Happy New Years!
