Rene Auberjonois did a real good job on

I always thought Rene Auberjonois's appearance on Enterprise, while nice to see and excellently performed of course, was a really odd thing to happen. You can't really imagine William Shatner or Patrick Stewart randomly turning up in another Trek series as a different one-off character.

(Yes, I know Brent Spiner turned up as someone-other-than-Data in Enterprise too, but he was invoking Trek's time-honoured tradition of everyone looks exactly like their ancestors, so there were mitigating circumstances.)

Yeah, I always found him very distracting on the episode. Needless to say, he does give a great performance as usual.

He was definitely good in Oasis, it's just a shame that it was a bit too similar to DS9's Shadowplay. The similarities weren't helped by Odo (and Dax) leading the investigation on the planet.

He did play Colonel West in TUC. And was briefly considered to play The Doctor in VOY.

Colonel West was before Deep Space Nine, and famously cut from the cinematic release. I hadn't heard about him being considered for the role of the EMH. I do know that Dwight Schultz was considered for the role using the idea that Barclay had been on the team that created the EMH, which ultimately became part of the EMH's backstory just realised in a slightly different way.

I thought for a minute this was going to point to a Rene Auberjonois Impersonater Onlyfans page.
I clicked anyway. As far as it odd him being in Enterprise, It's not as if Odo was his first Star Trek character, anyway.

Rene's character Odo is one of my all time favorite characters from ds9 from the first time I saw Emissary. He was a wonderful multi talented actor who created a memorable security chief on the show. I liked hid romantic relationship he had with Kira too.
