Rene' Auberjonois as reserved as his characters?

Mr. Scott

Commander
Howdy!

Is Rene Auberjonois in person similiar to his characters? I have seen him obviously on DS9 and Boston Legal, and he seems to play something of a similiar character, a little standoffish, shy, maybe not that comfortable around strangers.

I get that feeling out of him. Probably a very nice man, but I can't see him doing Star Trek conventions. Would seen to be a little too low brow for him (remember the Shakespearean actor in Galaxy Quest?) Does he do the convention circuit?

Benson was on when I was a kid, and I wasn't a big fan of the show. (SOAP on the other hand:guffaw::rommie::guffaw::rommie::guffaw:) Auberjonois played the chief of staff of the governor (?) and he seemed to be an unlikable personality, sort of like a Frank Burns character. I have also seen the movie MASH, and he was reserved as always.

How do you pronounce Auberjonois? I pronounce it ah-ber-jon-wa. Is that close?

Lastly, could they ever do a "E! True Hollywood Story" with DS9?

As far as I know, it's pronounced the French way - "O-BER-zhon-wa", O as "convention", "zh" as measure...

And yes, he does conventions - unfortunately I've only been able to read con reports and watch a few videos, but other people here can tell you about their experiences. odo'ital has an avatar pic of himself with Rene at a con.

Is he reserved? Judge for yourself. :D
