Rememberance of the Daleks classic toy set

Ok make that 3 (or 4) more pieces to the collection. I obviously have to have 8. I definitely need (yes need) the other TARDIS. If there are two 7s then I'll obviously have to get both. Now I must begin to save.

I'll definitely be getting an 8th Doctor. If he was to come with an accompanying figure of some sort like both of the Sevens, I wonder what it would be. What could it be? Snake-Master? That head contraption? Eight's TARDIS console would be cool.

And I wonder if at some point there might be a Seven wearing the costume he wore in the TV Movie. And might there be other Movie figures on the horizon? Grace? The Master?

I would like to see the 8th Dr figure paired with the Master in his Time Lord collar and robe, but the Terminator paramedic version (perhaps with two detachable heads - sunglasses or snake eyes) would be OK too.

I understand - but cannot quote my source as you have to sign the confidentiality agreement in your first-born's blood at the Toy Fair nowadays - that an 11 Doctors set is in the works for sometime this year.

Even though I have the Sixth Doctor, I have to say, I still might invest in this....

^ Even though I have the Ninth Doctor, I have to say, I still might invest in this...

On a side note, I'm really happy with the Davros figure I got from Mike's. It looks so cool and when you push him along the table, the way the thing moves is so much like how he moved in the Series 4 episodes. :bolian:

^ Even though I will have 10 out of 11 Doctors if 8 only comes in this pack then I guess I will have to buy it.

If 8 comes separately I will only consider buying it if they have the doctors in alternate outfits than the ones I already have.

^ I'm sure 8 will be available separately at some point or other, whether before or after the set of 11. One would hope, anyway.

^ I'm sure they will release the 11 doctors with 8 before they release 8 on it's own just to ensure idiots like me buy it inorder to complete their collection.

I've already pre-ordered the Seventh/Dalek set. I'll be grabbing the Seventh/Classic Tardis as well when it comes out. But I really hope they don't have that goofy grin, and if they do, that the figure comes with two heads the way the Fourth Doctor did. Neutral looks are much better than goofy grins.

And I'll get the Eighth Doctor and the 11 Doctors set if/when they come out. And I think that that will be the end of my collecting. Unless of course they ever do a Classic Companions set... which I seriously doubt.

I would love a classic companions set but I guess there would be too many and as I'm a completist I would need the complete set. :p

Don't forget the eventual Twelveth Doctor, who hopefully won't be along for a number of years. :)

^ Now you're just making me spend more. My wife isn't going to be happy. That's one less shoe she can now buy. ;)

Ordered this the other day through Forbidden Planet only to receive an email today that they can't honour my order as this set is exclusive to the UK and cannot be shipped overseas. Guess I'll have to wait until they show up on eBay then.

Does anybody know the official release date as I may be able to buy it when I am in London in June.

Ah... you're part of the deprived lot in the Land Down Under.

If you don't want to wait, there are quite a lot of members on a DW board I'm on that do the "buddy" thing for fans/collectors outside the exclusive zones of the UK and NA.

As for the release date, they'll be there in June since they're expected out within a month in the UK and late April in NA.

Hopefully they'll make him as short as he's supposed to be. I really hate (such as with Trek figures) when they make every character the same height and body type.

They don't do that with the DW figures. The DW figures are far superior to other figures on the market, in both likeness and body type/size. The First and Second Doctor figures for example, are much short than the Third and Fourth. There was, however, a mistake made with the mould for the Sixth and he came out shorter than he was supposed to be...

Uh oh... just had a horrid thought... What if that makes the Sixth and Seventh the same height?!?
