Reliant the right way up - any pictures?

Hi folks,

No doubt you all recall the story about how the Reliant came to be. Whats-his-name looked at the drawing the wrong way up and the art department decided not to tell him!

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has ever done a model or drawing or image of the Reliant as it was originally intended to be.

Cheers

I think Star Trek: The Magazine had an image of the original Reliant concept in their "STII:TWOK Director's Edition DVD Release" issue.

EXCELSIOR looks GREAT upside down, once you tear the dish off, it is very much a John Berkey painting (you can tear the nacelles off as well.)

One of my biggest disappointments about not making films professionally is not getting a chance to use Berkey's work as a basis for a non-trek universe. You see his stuff pinched piecemeal for ships like the medical frigate in EMPIRE, but if you actually used a lot of his stuff, it would integrate very nicely, I think (once you got a modelmaker who could embellish the art without messing up the aesthetic.)

Berkey for ship exteriors, probably Ron Cobb and Steve Burg for interiors, and maybe the guy who art directed EVENT HORIZON to actually build the interiors, since he knew how to balance functional looking stuff with cool looking stuff (except for the fans on the L&C.)

Man, could I go further off-topic (sorry, last post for the day.)

it doesn't matter if it's off-topic, you just can't say too much about these two. Love their work. I wish Ron Cobb would hurry up and put his concept art back up on his website.
